Joy and the Black Experience

Actor & writer Jonathan P. Sims is creating a play entitled "Black Boy Lullaby" focused on the intersection of Joy & the Black experience. In order to fully realize his vision for this piece, he is hoping to gather 10-15 members of the Black community and lead them through a workshop that will culminate with each of them writing a short story on joy. Each story will then be incorporated into the script that he is writing for the play. The overall goal is that the ideas of joy within the play are not solely informed by his own experience, but the experiences of the wider community, as well.
